Here’s your first real look at the Samsung Galaxy S6

If you’ve been itching to get a look at Samsung’s next flagship smartphone, here it is. The Samsung Galaxy S6 has been unveiled in profile by T-Mobile, which will be carrying the device .

The company’s CEO John Legere tweeted out the page with the profile shot of the S6 in all its curved glory. Besides the curvaceous screen, there’s a distinct lack of fake leather on the back of the device. It’s been replaced with dark gray metal, which looks like a real improvement.

T-Mobile promises more news on the Galaxy S6 on March 1 and we’ll be sure to hunt one down at the Mobile World Congress .

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will ship on September 19, iPhone 5s down to $99 and iPhone 5c goes free

At its event in Cupertino today, Apple announced the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus . Both devices will ship on September 19 and will be available for pre-order on September 12.

By the end of 2014, Apple hopes to have the new iPhones available in 115 countries. Normally the company lists how many carriers it plans to launch the devices on, but this time it did not.

The iPhone 6 comes in three flavors: 16GB will set you back $199, 64GB will cost you $299, and there’s a new 128GB version at $399. This is on a two-year contract, of course.

The iPhone 6 Plus is also available in three flavors: 16GB will set you back $299, 32GB will cost you $399, and 64GB goes for $499. In other words, the Plus will cost you another $100 on top of the iPhone 6.

The iPhone 5s has been slashed to $99 while the iPhone 5c will now be free, both on contract. Apple didn’t mention the iPhone 4s, so it’s not clear if it will be available in select markets or if it has been discontinued completely.

Both new devices will run iOS 8 out-of-the-box, which will be available for older devices on September 17 .

Nike launches ‘limited edition’ FuelBand SE in an ever so slightly different shade of gold

After denying reports that it was winding down the hardware side of its FuelBand business, Nike has suddenly announced a new, limited edition color variant of its Nike+ FuelBand SE fitness tracker.

The premium gold design follows the ‘ rose gold ‘ and silver variants in Nike’s slickly-designed Metaluxe collection. To be honest, the gold and ‘rose gold’ options look almost exactly the same – at a glance you would be hard pressed to tell them apart – so it’s hardly the boldest move by Nike.

If you’re interested though, the ‘Gold Nike+ FuelBand SE METALUXE’ (that’s becoming quite a mouthful) will be available in limited quantities for $149 on Nikeom and select retail stores, starting tomorrow.
