OnePlus 9 with Snapdragon 888, Hasselblad cameras coming soon to Nepal

After all the teasers and promotional campaigns, OnePlus has finally launched its latest OnePlus 9 series. Among the three devices that were launched today, the OnePlus 9 is a sort of a middle-ground between the Pro and the gaming-focused 9R. It’s basically the Pro model but with a flat-screen and some compromise in the camera hardware. In this post, we will be taking a look at the specs, features, expected price, and availability of the OnePlus 9 in Nepal.

OnePlus 9 Overview:

Design and Display

Here, the OnePlus 9 sports a 6.55-inch FHD+ flat AMOLED panel. It is a 120Hz refresh rate screen but it’s not an adaptive one as in the Pro model. Other than that, the display features a left-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

At the back, we get a re-designed camera bump complete with the Hasselblad branding. It is home to the triple camera setup. Also, the frame is made from polymer instead of aluminum. The phone is available in three color options – Stellar Black, Arctic Sky, and Winter Mist.

Performance and Memory

Like the Pro model, the vanilla OnePlus 9 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 chipset. The phone is available with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. You also get the new Cool Play cooling mechanism.

It will ship with ColorOS 11 in the Chinese market. However, it will retain the beloved OxygenOS 11 (based on Android 11) for the global market.

Cameras

The triple camera setup at the back consists of a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor which comes with DOL HDR. Users can record 4K videos at 120fps. Similarly, 8K videos are capped at 30 fps. Accompanying the primary sensor is a 50MP Sony IMX766 ultrawide camera. It uses a freeform lens that reduces the distortion from 20% to just 1%. Thus, OnePlus is claiming that it will “practically eliminate edge distortion” that has been common with ultrawide cameras in smartphones.

Battery and Connectivity

OnePlus 9 comes with the same 4,500mAh battery that is in the Pro model. It also retains the 65W fast charging technology, while supporting wireless charging as well.

However, the charging speed maxes out at 15W compared to 50W in the Pro model. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.
