Check out Apple’s secret Apple Watch fitness lab
While its products tend to leak more often than not, Apple is still extremely secretive. So when the company allows camera into any of its facilities, it’s a pretty big deal.
Today, ABC morning news show, ‘ Good Morning America ,’ aired a behind-the-scenes segment about Apple’s secret fitness testing lab. Inside, employees have been working out for over two years with various sensors placed all over their bodies including a rather disturbing looking face mask that measures how hard a person is breathing. It’s all research for the Apple Watch and HealthKit .
Of course, in typical Apple fashion, even the employees were kept in the dark about why they were working out. Senior Vice President of Operations Jeff Williams told the morning show, “they didn’t even know what they were working on.”
The Apple Watch will go on sale without a creepy blue mask on April 24 .

UK Apple Pay hold-out Barclays wants you to use its own devices for contactless payments
British bank Barclays would prefer if you used its own hardware to pay for your next purchase rather than your phone.
It announced today three ‘bPay’ devices for making your next payment: a wrist wearable, a keyfob and a sticker for your phone.
You can use bPay regardless of the bank you’re with, as it uses a pre-paid account that can be linked to major credit and debit cards.
All three devices take advantage of the contactless technology that’s utilized in payment terminals for tap-to-pay cards. That means it’ll work everywhere contactless cards are supported for transactions under £20.
Alongside the bPay devices is a mobile app for iOS and Android that tracks spending as well as offering account top ups on the go.
It’s interesting that Barclays is making these devices available now, with the launch of Apple Pay in the United Kingdom looming in July.
The bank is notably missing from the list of supported financial institutes, perhaps because it thinks it can build its own payment platform to compete instead.
bPay devices will be available from July 1, starting at £14.99 for the sticker, £19.99 for the key attachment and £24.99 for the wearable wristband.
